Open Access Policy
Psycounia: Indonesian Journal of Psychology and Counseling applies an editorial policy designed to ensure the quality, integrity, relevance, and transparency of its scholarly publications.
1. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are based primarily on the scholarly quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and contribution of submitted manuscripts. Editors are expected to exercise independent academic judgment without inappropriate influence from authors, institutions, sponsors, or other external parties.
2. Peer Review
Manuscripts submitted to Psycounia undergo an editorial screening process followed by peer review when considered suitable for further evaluation. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and the relevance of their academic background to the manuscript.
The journal seeks to apply an objective and constructive peer-review process. Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit, methodological soundness, originality, clarity, and contribution to the field.
The final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the journal's editorial team.
3. Manuscript Evaluation
Initial editorial screening may consider:
- relevance to the journal's focus and scope;
- originality and scholarly contribution;
- methodological appropriateness;
- compliance with author guidelines;
- academic writing quality;
- ethical considerations; and
- potential conflicts of interest.
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to authors or rejected before external peer review.
4. Conflicts of Interest
Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to disclose any circumstances that could create an actual or potential conflict of interest. Appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that conflicts do not compromise the integrity of the editorial and review process.
5. Confidentiality
Information concerning submitted manuscripts, including unpublished research findings and reviewer identities where applicable, shall be treated confidentially. Such information shall not be disclosed or used for purposes unrelated to the editorial and review process.
6. Authorship
Authorship should reflect substantial contributions to the conception, design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, or preparation of the manuscript. All listed authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
7. Research Ethics
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research complies with applicable ethical standards. Research involving human participants should address relevant requirements concerning informed consent, privacy, confidentiality, and protection of participants.
8. Editorial Decisions
Editorial decisions may include acceptance, acceptance subject to revision, revision and resubmission, or rejection. Decisions are made based on the overall scholarly assessment of the manuscript and the recommendations obtained through the editorial and peer-review process.
9. Publication Integrity
Psycounia is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. When necessary, the journal may publish corrections, retractions, or other notices to maintain the accuracy and reliability of its published content.
10. Continuous Improvement
The editorial team regularly evaluates journal policies, editorial procedures, and publication practices to improve the quality, efficiency, transparency, and academic credibility of Psycounia.
